AI , or Artificial Intelligence , refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think and learn like humans. However, the field of AI as we know it today began to take shape in the 1950s. In the 1950s, researchers at Dartmouth College proposed the study of "thinking machines" and organized the Dartmouth Conference, which is considered the birth of AI as a field of study.
